MONSTER MAGNET Shop New Demo, Make Film Appearance

MONSTER MAGNET are currently shopping a new three-song demo to interested record companies following their split with longtime label A&M Records earlier in the year.

Recorded in August 2002, the demo features the following cuts:

01. Master Of Light
02. Oh Baby
03. Blow Your Mind

In other news, MONSTER MAGNET reportedly filmed a scene for an upcoming ICE CUBE movie being directed by Joseph Kahn, who had previously worked with the group on the videos for "Space Lord" and "Powertrip". According to MeteorCity, MONSTER MAGNET were cast a bar band playing in a dirty old saloon-type of place behind the main screen action taking place, courtesy of the rapper.

Also on the MAGNET-related front, the GALLERY OF MITES project, featuring Jon Kleiman, Ed Mundell, Joe Calandra and Tim Cronin from MONSTER MAGNET, Tommy Southard from SOLACE, Mike Schweigert and Jim Baglino from LORD STERLING and Lee Stuart from HALFWAY TO GONE, is still progressing on schedule. "Nearly everything is done," Jon explained to MeteorCity. "I just had Ed add a few more guitar tracks to thicken another tune up, now we're finishing vocals and a few bass tracks. Oh, and I'm asking Phil Caivano [from MONSTER MAGNET] to do a guitar track too, that makes 11 people, and it's all of MONSTER MAGNET except [mainman] Dave [Wyndorf]!"

GALLERY OF MITES are tentatively scheduled to release their full-length debut around February/March through MeteorCity Records.
